If you wanna read more, here's the Wookieepedia article on it. With all the marketing and hype they put into this project, you'd think they'd really like to maintain SOME of it, right? Which I find a little weird because (from what I know) this story doesn't really contradict any of their stories in the new cannon. So I don't know about you guys, but it has kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.īut now Disney has made this non cannon. Hell, there are a ton of references to Shadows of the Empire in the Special Edition (ASP droids, Dash Rendar's ship, swoop bikes). This project was to create more hype and interest for the Star Wars Special Edition when it was coming out. Alle Marken sind Eigentum ihrer jeweiligen Besitzer in den USA und anderen Ländern. All of these pieces of media came out in 1997. My biggest takeaway from the whole project, however, is its release. Hell, if I recall, there's also a bit where "many bothans die," just as Mon Mothma refers to in Jedi. The game takes place from Dash Rendar's point of view, where the comic puts focus mostly around Boba Fett's.

I know each piece of media tells the story from different perspectives. But I can't exactly tell you what's going on. Look, I'm gonna be honest, I haven't read the book or played the game yet. And I think Greedo's uncle too, or something like that.

It's where they meet Prince Xizor, his android assistant Guri, and Dash Rendar along the way. The whole thing took place between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, where Chewy, Leia, and Luke have to go and find out where Boba Fett is taking Han. Not only did it have it's own videogame, but it also had it's own novelization, junior novelization, comic, soundtrack, trading cards, and toy line! But it was actually a huge multimedia project, and a pretty goddamn big deal if I remember correctly. Some of you might remember Shadows of the Empire as a videogame on the N64, way back in 97.
